What is an electrolyzed water generator?
An electrolytic water generator is a device that decomposes water and reacts with residual chlorine to produce Hypochlorous Acid water. Hypochlorous Acid water (HCIO) is electrolytic water with sterilization and deodorization effects.
SHUM mini electrolyzes tap water to generate Hypochlorous Acid water. Tap water + S-Plus is electrolyzed to generate slightly acidic Hypochlorous Acid water, which has sterilization power with a Hypochlorous Acid (HCIO) ratio of 95% or more.
Where is it used?
It can be used in various environments such as kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, cars, restaurants, offices, and classrooms. You can use it to clean clothing, bedding, toys, mats, kitchenware, pet supplies, and devices.
Please test a small hidden sample before using it on high-quality material, leather, or metal, as there is a risk of discoloration or damage.
When using it on home appliances, spray the product onto a dry cloth and wipe.
Can I use purified water or underground water instead of tap water?
Regular tap water of 41° to 95°F (5° to 35°C) is recommended. However, if tap water is difficult to use, use purified or non-contaminated water.
How effective is the hypochlorous acid solution as a disinfectant generated by SHUM mini?

Is it harmless to the human body?
Unlike bleach, which is used by diluting with water, the electrolyzed water generator can make sterilized water of safe concentration without the help of any chemical substance. However, caution is required as it is a product that produces sterilized water.

How long does the water stay electrolyzed?
It's best to sterilize whenever and wherever you need it and use it as soon as possible. It is recommended to use it within 24 hours of creation.
It can be kept at room temperature for 3 to 7 days, but over time it loses its effectiveness and returns to plain water without sanitizing properties.
How do I use this safely?
We recommend that you read the product manual thoroughly.
Don't intentionally drink the solution or inhale the mist.
In case of contact with the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water.
Avoid contact with sensitive or wounded skin.
When using on food or items that will touch your mouth, such as silverware or kitchenware, rinse once more with plain water.
How do I clean this product?
Washing with a cleaning agent can lead to malfunctioning.
Do not wash or soak the product with water. Use cleaning mode only.
Why do other companies use salt in their products?
Adding salt produces sodium hypochlorite instead of hypochlorous acid. Sodium hypochlorite is more stable than hypochlorous acid, allowing sterilization to last about five more days.
In addition, the pH changes to basic instead of neutral, resulting in a detergent and bleaching effect, similar to chlorine bleach. This allows for a broader use but is not the right choice considering that the primary function of electrolyzed water is sterilization and deodorization.
Regulatory guidelines on Hypochlorous Acid (CAS no. 7790-92-3) as an antimicrobial agent
- FDA FCN 1811: Use Hypochlorous Acid as an antimicrobial agent and no-rinse sanitation at up to 60 ppm in the production and preparation of meat, poultry, fish and seafood, fruits and vegetables, and shell eggs.
- EPA CFR 180.940: Tolerance exemption of Hypochlorous Acid at up to 200 ppm for us in antimicrobial, food-contact surface sanitizing solutions and up to 4 ppm for disinfecting drinking water.
- USDA Policy Memo 15-4 Electrolyzed Water: Hypochlorous Acid is included on the National List, stating that hypochlorous acid generated by electrolyzed water is safe for use in organic production or handling of crops, livestock, food, and drinking water.
Precautions on use
- Do not spray directly at people or animals; try to avoid breathing the water vapor.
- Wear a mask during use if you are sensitive to chemicals.
- After using electrolyzed water, rinse food, ingredients, or utensils before eating.
- Do not wash or soak the product with water. Use cleaning mode only.
- Too much S-Plus may cause the product to stop working. Add 20ml of tap water and only one drop of S-Plus when using S-Plus.
